This last month we went on two field trips. First, we went to Montgomery Village Fire Station. It was a very busy day at the station with fire trucks and ambulances coming and going the whole time we were there. The kids got to go inside a fire truck and an ambulance. They thought that was very fun.
Our second trip was to Meadowside Nature Center for a class on reptiles and amphebians. We started the class with a hike to check out the local pond and look for frogs and toads. Then we went to a classroom where the kids got to touch a toad, a turtle, and a snake. Surprisingly both girls touched everything.

Caleb's Party and Sandbox
On Moday we finally celebrated Caleb's birthday. We invited some friends that have little boys near Caleb's age and went to a local gymnastics center that has a one hour open gym every day, and took everyone there to play. After the gym we went to McDonald's for happy meals, and instead of a birthday cake we brought fresh Krispy Kreme Donoughts. That was definitely a hit!
Dave and I got Caleb a sandbox for his birthday, so later that day, Dave and the girls went to Home Depot to get some sand. When he got up from nap we took him outside to play in it. He was very cute. He really liked it, but it was funny, because he just stood on the outside and reached in. He didn't realize that he could climb in and play. Anyway, with the nice weather this week, we have definitely put the new sandbox to good use. I was not sure I would like having a sandbox because of the clean up, but I quickly realized with Caleb that he'll either be digging in the dirt in our yard, or a sandbox. Sand doesn't seem too messy anymore!

Mikaela's Party
We had Mikaela's birthday party yesterday. Aside from the girls feeling a little under the weather, it was a great time. We decided to have a cooking themed party, consisting of recipe card invites, decorating aprons, making your own pasta for lunch, and decorating cupcakes. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We really love throwing parties like this and blessing our girls and their friends.

Snow Day 2
We had a great time on the last snow day making snowmen and sledding. This snow was great play snow! Caleb had more fun this time. Probably because he let me put a hat and gloves on him, so he wasn't as cold. Here is the kids and Dave's creation. A penguin, not a snowman. We got these cool kits for Christmas that you can use to dress us your snowmen. So cute!
What's a day in the snow without ending with a little hot chocolate.
