A whole month

I said when I had internet I would start blogging again. I'm a little behind on that promise. It took about two weeks to get internet here at the house, but now we are good to go. We are totally loving being back at the townhouse. The kids always have someone to play with and it's so nice for Dave to be closer to the church.

This past month has been full! We got to go to a DC United Soccer game. We had never been to a pro soccer game. WOW! What an experience! We were given tickets by an organization called Casey Cares. They are a wonderful organization that does things for families with sick children. Next month we are going to see Sesame Street Live!

Dave and I got to go on a White House tour. It was amazing. The guy that gave us the tour knew so much. It was a beautiful night, and we felt so privileged to be there.

Last weekend we went to the Howard County Fair. The kids had so much fun playing games, riding ponies, riding rides, and of course eating cotton candy. At the fair, it was so funny. The three older kids wanted to ride the ferris wheel. I am not a fan of heights, so those kinds of rides always go to Dad. Well, he wasn't there, so Aunt Jess got the job of taking them on. I thought for sure at least one would freek out, but they all had a good time.

The girls also started golf lessons. My parents are huge golfers so they are paying for the girls to take them. It was supposed to be a group lesson, but so far, it's just been the two girls. Caleb enjoys playing on the putting green while he's waiting! He uses both his left and right so it's kind of tricky. He is equally good with both!

Sarah continues to do well. It has been so great having carpet here at the house. When we brought her here for the first time, she walked to me from across the room. Those ten steps made all the hard work of moving worth it. I definitely feel that this is so good for her. The more she practices the better she becomes. We were at Hopkins two days last week. She got a little sick yesterday, but I don't know if it was a bug that's going around, or from the chemo. The current plan has her weening her steroids until January, and the rest of her drugs she gets at Hopkins until March. All that of course depends on if she continues to make improvement in her gross motor skills. Her ability to walk is getting better, and she still has her tremors, but she really has learned to adapt to all the obstacles. She continues to receive PT and OT here at home.

And then there is Caleb. He is too funny. This was him during a recent bath!

The next two weeks will probably be quiet on the blog again. Dave will be leading the youth retreat this week and I have the opportunity to go with him. Then we go on vacation. The kids are counting down the days! Then, school starts!! I can't believe it. I'm sure that will provide many stories for the blog!

Your kids can learn to golf for free at the Laytonsville Golf Course right around the corner.
